Movie Screening: Hoba (The Vile)
Fresh off its film festival award win and Gulf theatrical release, Hoba (The Vile) introduces a bold new voice in Emirati horror.
Directed by Majid Al Ansari, this award-winning film follows Amani, whose quiet life is upended when her husband brings home a second wife. What begins as domestic upheaval soon takes a terrifying turn, as sinister forces seep into the very walls of their home.
Unsettling, atmospheric, and steeped in psychological tension, the film explores the quiet, insidious horrors that dwell closest to home.
Join us for a special screening, followed by a Q&A with the director on the inspirations behind the film and its international film festival success, moderated by artist and film curator Hind Mezaina.
