Adel Awad

Born and raised in the UAE, Adel Awad is a spoken word poet deeply immersed in the local art and culture scene. He also excels as an event curator, art enthusiast and community builder for cultural initiatives across the region. He was awarded Best Spoken Word Performer by Rooftop Rhythms, the region’s largest platform for spoken word poetry, and was also part of Sandstorm, the UAE’s first international poetry slam team.


Awad served as a cultural ambassador for local spoken word initiatives including those by Dubai Culture, NYUAD Arts Centre and the International Institute for Tolerance. His work has also been published in the UAE’s first poetry anthology Nations of Peace. His writings often reflect elements of mental health, resilience, identity and a longing for the truest essence of home.
