Ahlam Bolooki

Ahlam Bolooki is the Director of the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature - the Middle East’s largest celebration of the written and spoken word. With a mission of inspiring all to read for pleasure, the festival is a platform for open dialogue, forward thinking and promotes a more empathetic society. She is also the leader of the UAE Wikipedia User Group and founder of the Kateb Maktub movement which cultivates free information culture and enriches Arab authors’ data online. Ahlam is the co-founder of Mangroves 4 Mankind, a local social enterprise with an aim to combat climate change by conserving and restoring mangrove ecosystems around the world.

Ahlam is an experienced moderator who has lead conversations with Tayari Jones, Elif Shafak, Avni Doshi, Derek Owusu and other renowned authors from around the world.
