Ahmed Bakheet

Ahmed Bakheet was raised in the city of Asyut and has always had a deep love for poetry. Growing up in Cairo, Bakheet worked as a teaching assistant in the Department of Criticism, Rhetoric, and Comparative Literature at Cairo University, after graduating from Dar Al-Ulum in 1989. However, he left academia to focus on his writing. In 1998, Bakheet released his debut collection of poetry Goodbye, Desert, which was critically acclaimed and well-received. He went on to publish numerous collections after that.
