Ahmed Saadawi
Ahmed Saadawi is an Iraqi writer, novelist, and journalist. He worked as an editor for the newspapers Al-Ta’akhi and Al-Mada, and won First Prize for Reportage in 2005. He was a correspondent for the BBC in Baghdad before moving into documentary production and programme direction. He later served as cultural adviser to the Iraqi Media Network and founded the Nabu publishing house.
He has published several novels, including The Beautiful Country, The Chalk Door, Di’s Memoirs, The Thirteenth Month, and his most renowned work, Frankenstein in Baghdad, which won the International Prize for Arabic Fiction in 2014 and has been translated into numerous languages. He currently works as a script development consultant and writes columns for several websites.
