Ali AlShaali
Ali AlShaali is an Emirati poet and the founder of Hudhud Publishing House. He has published five poetry collections and two novels, as well as an essay collection titled Rooms with Windows and a short story collection titled Lives with a Pomegranate Flavour.
His first novel, Al-Hayy Al-Hayy (The Living Neighbourhood), was longlisted for the Sheikh Zayed Book Award, and later won the Al-Owais Prize for Literary Creativity. In 2025, he published his new novel, My Name is Alia and This is My Father, and was honoured with the title of Festival Personality at the 20th Sharjah Arabic Poetry Festival.
His poetry collection The Earth Has One Soul has been translated into several languages, including Spanish, Turkish, Greek, Italian, Korean, and English.
