Badriah Albeshr
Badriah Albeshr is a Saudi writer and novelist who holds a PhD in the Philosophy of Literature and Sociology from the Lebanese University. She won the Arab Journalism Award for Best Newspaper Column in Dubai in 2011.
Her novel Romances of Al-Asha Street was nominated for the International Prize for Arabic Fiction in 2013 and was later adapted into a television series on MBC. She has written daily and semi-daily columns for more than 30 years and has served on the juries of several Arab literary awards, including the Saudi Golden Pen Award and the Scientific Committee of the Sheikh Zayed Book Award.
Her novels and short story collections have been translated into English, German, French, and Italian. She also participates regularly in literary festivals both within Saudi Arabia and internationally.
