Caroline Faraj
Jordanian award-winning journalist Caroline Faraj joined the global CNN network in late 2001, where she founded its Arabic service and established the network’s first bureau in the Gulf region in 2002.
She has more than three decades of experience, beginning her career in Jordan with Sawt Al Shaab newspaper, followed by Al-Rai and The Jordan Times. She also launched the first live TV show Yaoum Jadid on Jordanian TV.
Faraj holds a Bachelor’s degree in journalism and media from Yarmouk University in Jordan, and a Master’s degree in international media from City University in London. In 2021, City University awarded her an honorary PhD.
Caroline received the King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein Order for Distinction of the First Degree in 2022, in addition to numerous Arab and international awards for her pioneering role in the media, as well as her efforts to empower women and youth. She is passionate about new media, youth creativity, and freedom of expression.
