Dr. Rafia Ghubash

Dr Rafia Ghubash is an Emirati psychiatrist, academic, and cultural advocate, recognized as the first Emirati woman to specialize in psychiatry. She currently serves as President of the Arab Network for Women in Science and Technology and is the founder of the Women’s Museum in Dubai, dedicated to documenting the achievements of Emirati and Arab women. Formerly Dean of the College of Medicine at UAE University and President of the Arabian Gulf University in Bahrain, Dr. Ghubash has published over 45 scientific papers and authored cultural works, including the Encyclopedia of Emirati Women. She is a recipient of prestigious awards such as the Hamdan Award for Medical Excellence and the Inspirational Arab Woman Award, and remains a leading voice in women’s empowerment and cultural heritage preservation.
