Faraz Ali

Faraz Ali is an award-winning Experiential Designer and a performing artist, practicing in public, digital, and poetic realms. Over the past decade, Ali has studied Urdu literature as both a creative tradition and a sociocultural phenomenon, engaging in both deep study and experimentation.

In the foreground, Ali runs a research and performance-based project titled Zer Zabar Paesh, an ongoing digital platform where he curates a variety of artistic and literary subjects to make this tradition accessible to people with a genuine interest in classical and contemporary Urdu verse and its vast apparatus, including approaches to deep reading, poetics, canon and history, criticism and scholarship etc.

As an international performing artist rooted in experiential design, Ali has collaborated with regional and global institutions like Art Dubai, Art Jameel, AlSerkal Avenue, Salam Festival and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Last year, an award-winning campaign ‘Adidas x Ravi,’ featured Ali to celebrate his efforts.
