Fatima Al-Mazrouei
Fatima Al-Mazrouei is a writer, novelist, poet, short story author, and researcher in heritage and history. She is the Head of the Historical Archives Department at the National Archives and Library. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in History and Archaeology from the United Arab Emirates University, and a Master’s degree in Political Science from Zayed University.
Al-Mazrouei writes across a range of fields, including fiction, historical research, criticism, essays, cinema, theatre, children’s literature, and poetry. She has published over 20 works spanning poetry, theatre, short stories, novels, and essays.
She has received nine prestigious awards in literature and culture, including the Al-Owais Award for Best Creative and Cultural Work for her novel Al-Atama (The Darkness), the Sheikha Shamsa bint Suhail Award for Literature and Culture, and the Emirates Novel Award in 2017 for her novel My Other Story.
She also writes regular columns for Al-Bayan newspaper and Al-Ain News.
