Hassan Abdel Mawgoud

Hassan Abdel Mawgoud is an Egyptian writer whose work includes two novels, "Ain Al‑Qitt" and "Naseyet Bata", and five short‑story collections: "One Leg", "Lapse and Error", "Charming Wars", "Humans and Lizards", and "The Story Merchant". He has also published four books in literary journalism and memoir.

He received the Dubai Award for Cultural Journalism for his investigative report "Tales of the Monks in Wadi Al‑Natrun" in 2003, the Sawiris Cultural Award for the novel "Ain Al‑Qitt" in 2005, the Youssef Idris Award for the short‑story collection "Charming Wars" in 2020, and the Cairo International Book Fair Award for Best Short‑Story Collection for "Humans and Lizards" in 2022. He also won two awards from the Egyptian Journalists Syndicate in 2020 and 2021. His works have been translated into English, Spanish, French, and German.
