HE Dr. Ali Bin Tamim
HE Dr Ali bin Tamim is the Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre (ALC) at the Department of Culture and Tourism and the Secretary-General of the Sheikh Zayed Book Award. He also serves as Editor-in-Chief of Al-Markaz: Majallat al-Dirasat al-Arabiyya and the leading online news platform 24.ae. Bin Tamim has held various positions in the UAE’s cultural and heritage sectors, including Chairperson of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre, Chairman of the Executive Committee, and member of the Board of Directors of the National Archives from 2015 to 2018. He also managed the Kalima Translation Project and served as General Manager of Abu Dhabi Media Company from 2016 to 2019.
Bin Tamim has been a jury member for several prominent cultural awards in the UAE, most notably the Prince of Poets Program, the Dubai Cultural Award, and the Khalifa Educational Award. He also served on the Supreme Committee of the State Appreciation Award. Dr. Bin Tamim earned his Ph.D. in Literary Criticism from Yarmouk University in Jordan in 2005 and his Master’s degree in Arabic Language and Literature from the University of Jordan in 2001. He has contributed to numerous media and cultural initiatives in the United Arab Emirates.
