HE Dr Khalifa Ali Al Suwaidi
HE Dr Khalifa Ali Al Suwaidi is an Emirati academic and educational expert, serving as Secretary General and Chief Executive Officer of the Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences. He previously held the position of Secretary General of the Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Distinguished Academic Performance. He served as a Dean at the United Arab Emirates University and was a member of the Abu Dhabi Education Council under the chairmanship of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in addition to being a Board Member of the UNESCO International Task Force on Teachers.
Alongside his academic and leadership roles, Dr Al Suwaidi has contributed actively to cultural and educational discourse through a weekly column in Al Ittihad newspaper and by producing and presenting the television programme “Khotwa” on Abu Dhabi TV. He holds a PhD in Education from the University of Southern California, a Master’s degree in Education from George Washington University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Education and Psychology from the United Arab Emirates University. He has also completed advanced professional programmes at leading institutions, including Harvard University and the National Center for Teaching Thinking in the United States.
Dr Al Suwaidi has received several prestigious awards in recognition of his contributions to education, including the Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum Award for Scientific Excellence, the Khalifa Award for Education in Higher Education Excellence, and the Award for Best Educational Project in the Use of Technology in Education. He is the author and co-author of a number of influential books, including “Curriculum: Concept, Design, Implementation and Maintenance”, “Perspectives on Education”, “Feed the Teachers Before the Students”, and “Sleeping with the Enemy: How to Be Happy”, in addition to publishing more than fifteen peer‑reviewed research studies in regional and international journals
