HE Ibrahim Alhashmi
HE Ibrahim Alhashmi is an Emirati writer and man of letters. He currently serves as the Executive Director of the Sultan Bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Foundation, and is a board member of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Library, as well as a member of the Advisory Council of the College of Arts at the University of Sharjah. He is a member of the Emirates Writers Union, and served as its President in 2005, in addition to holding the position of Secretary-General for several terms. He writes poetry, essays, and heritage and historical research, and has a weekly column in Al Khaleej newspaper titled "Words". His writing has also appeared in Al Azmina Al Arabiya magazine and in newspapers such as Al Bayan and Emarat Al Youm. He served for several years as Editor-in-Chief of "Literary Affairs", published by the Emirates Writers Union, and founded and led the poetry magazine "Qaf" until it ceased publication. He has published a number of poetry collections and documentary/heritage titles, including "Mas" and "Folk Beliefs in the United Arab Emirates" (co-authored with Dr. Aisha Balkhair), and books on prominent poets such as Mohammed Khalifa bin Hadhir Al Muhairi and Ibrahim Jumaa. He has also won awards in photography and has served as a judge for various literary and artistic awards and competitions.

Al Owais Celebration
Marking the centenary of his birth, the Emirates Literature Foundation celebrates the legacy of the Emirati poet and prominent civic figure Sultan bin Ali Al Owais. The session revisits key chapters of his life and cultural and humanitarian journey, and highlights his pioneering role in supporting Arab creativity through his leading cultural foundation. A special session that recalls his profound impact on the literary and national landscapes. Speakers: H.E. Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Dr. Abdulkhaleq Abdulla, and writer Yousef Alhassan.
