Ibrahim Farghali

Ibrahim Farghali is a Mansoura-born Egyptian writer, journalist and novelist. He has written 17 books, mainly travel and young adult fiction. Farghali won the Sawiris Award for Great Novel Writers and the Naguib Mahfouz Award.

He has published several literary and critical studies on numerous Arab cultural periodicals, and his novel The Smiles of the Saints was translated into English and published in German in 2007.

Early in his journalism career, Farghali wrote for several Egyptian and Arabic newspapers. He then moved to Kuwait, where he worked for Al-Araby Magazine and Kuwait Magazine for several years before becoming the Director of Cultural Programs at the Contemporary Art Platform (CAP).
