Jad Hakawati

Jad is a performance artist from Lebanon who isn't interested in what performance art is but rather what performance art isn’t. His practice is intimate, provocative and participatory with a strong emphasis on public engagement. In addition to his artistic practice, he participated in establishing Minwal Theatre Company in Lebanon in 2014. Jad is a Robert Bosch Stiftung alumni and holds a qualification in dramatic arts from Lebanese University. He has a particular interest in cultural leadership, and has a wide experience in designing, managing, facilitating and teaching workshops in performance art, theatre, education and cultural management. His work has been presented in Lebanon, Egypt, Tunisia, Italy, Uganda and Rwanda.
