Jalal Barjas
Jalal Barjas is a Jordanian poet, novelist, and journalist, and the founder of the Jordanian Narrative Laboratory.
He is the author of several acclaimed novels and story collections, winning the 2021 International Prize for Arabic Fiction for Notebooks of the Bookseller, the Katara Prize for Snakes of Fire, and other national awards. His works Women of the Five Senses and The Duduk’s Whimper were recognised by the International Prize for Arabic Fiction and the Sheikh Zayed Book Award, respectively.
His recent publications include The Seventh Day Melody and Reading Fever.. Writing Dizziness. His books have been translated into multiple languages, establishing him as one of the Arab world’s most prominent literary voices.
