Janette Ayachi
Janette Ayachi is a Scottish-Algerian poet with a BA in Film Media and English Literature from Stirling University and an MSc in Creative Writing from Edinburgh University. She is the author of Hand Over Mouth Music which won the Saltire Poetry Book of the Year Award 2019, and Quickfire, Slow Burning which was shortlisted for Scotland’s National Book Awards and The Laurel Prize 2024, among others. A regular contributor to BBC arts programmes, Ayachi also mentors emerging writers for the Scottish Book Trust and collaborates widely with artists.
