Khaled Alnassiry

Khaled Al Nassiry is a Palestinian poet, graphic designer, and filmmaker, and the founder of Mediterranean Publications. Born in Damascus, he worked in advertising, artistic design, journalism and in the fields of cultural exchange and cultural festival programming.


Al Nassiry published his first poetry collection, I Believed Everything in 2009. Shortly after, he relocated to Italy and became the editor-in-chief of the Arabic section of the magazine Al-Jazeera, specialising in migration issues.


In 2013, he wrote and directed, in collaboration with two other Italian directors, the documentary film I Am with the Bride, which won more than 130 international awards, including the Geneva Prize for Human Rights, Silver Ribbon of Italian Cinema, Gold Medal of the Italian Republic for Best Artistic Producer, Dano Award for the Fight Against Racial Discrimination, Great Oran Prize for Documentary Film and Al-Jazeera Documentary Film Festival Award.


In 2015, Al Nassiry was granted honorary Italian citizenship by the mayor of Palermo and founded the Mediterranean Publications House. In 2017, he founded the International Translation and Literature Forum, which was held in Palestine in 2017 and 2018, as well as in Milan in 2019. In 2018, he launched the poetry-focused Bra'at journal, which has published four issues and released his novel The Land of Tuesday in 2019. Several of his works have been translated into many languages, including Italian, English, French, and German, and have appeared in several foreign and Italian anthologies.
