Maitha Al Khayat
Maitha Al Khayat is an Emirati writer, illustrator, and trainer specialising in children’s literature. She holds a degree in Business Administration and has over 17 years of experience in the field.
She has published more than 160 works for children and young adults, many of which have been translated into English, Turkish, and Italian. Her works are distinguished by a blend of authenticity and imagination, and often explore themes such as family, heritage, and creativity.
Among her most notable books are My Own Way, which won the Best Book Award at the Riyadh Children’s Forum in 2011 and was nominated for the Marsh Award in 2012, and Turn Off the Lights, which won the Arab Forum Award for Children’s Book Publishers in 2016.
She also writes for television programmes such as Open Sesame and the animated series Hamdon, and is renowned for her ability to transform ideas into inspiring creative projects.
