Maryam Al Balooshi

Maryam Ali Al Balooshi is an Emirati author and weekly columnist for Al Khaleej newspaper. She was born in Abu Dhabi in 1980 and grew up in a family that loved science and literature.

Maryam began her career in the field of environment in civil aviation in 2006, becoming the first Emirati and Arab woman to specialize in this field. She has worked on many pioneering initiatives and projects in the field of sustainability and climate change in the aviation sector, where she has served as chief climate change negotiator for the aviation sector since 2011.

In 2015, Maryam received the Leadership Personality in Aviation Award at the Middle East Business Leaders Awards (MEBSLA), a prestigious award given to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the field of aviation.

In addition to her work in the environmental field, Maryam is also a talented writer. She has published eight books, the most prominent of which is Breathe, which was published in Arabic and English, and But I Can, which is based on a true story.

Maryam Ali Al Balooshi is an inspiring example of Emirati women. She is an environmental and aviation pioneer, a gifted writer and an influential leadership figure.
