Maryam AlZarooni
Maryam AlZarooni is an Emirati poet and writer, and a member of the board of directors of the Emirates Writers Union, where she is responsible for cultural affairs. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and is pursuing a Master’s degree in Literature and Criticism at Mohammed bin Zayed University for Humanities, where she also serves as Editorial Secretary of the Philosophical Studies Journal.
AlZarooni has published two poetry collections, most notably It No Longer Matters (2021), which has been translated into three languages. Its Spanish translation won the Group Editorial Sial Pigmalión Award for Best Translated Book at the 2025 Madrid Book Fair.
In fiction, her novel A Letter from Harvard won the Al-Owais Prize for Creativity and has been translated into English. She has also participated in art exhibitions and international literary festivals.
