Mounir ElHayek
Mounir ElHayek is a Lebanese novelist and critic, he holds a doctorate in Arabic language and literature.
His critical work is The Poetics of Place in the Palestinian Novel. His notable novels include Dubai Metro, The Cigarette Butt Collector, which was longlisted for the 2023 Ghassan Kanafani Prize, Barren Diaries, and his most recent novel, Ziyah.
He writes weekly critical articles for prominent Arab newspapers such as Al-Quds Al-Arabi in London, Akhbar Al-Adab in Egypt, and Al-Akhbar in Lebanon. He is considered one of the most prominent Lebanese voices in the contemporary literary and critical scene.
