Myra Garces-Bacsal
Myra Bacsal has served as an educator for over 25 years and is currently an Associate Professor in the Special and Gifted Education Department at UAE University. She was Assistant Dean for Research & Graduate Studies for the College of Education from 2020 to 2025 and chaired the Programme Committee for the Asian Festival of Children’s Content in Singapore from 2012 to 2019. A passionate advocate for books, Bacsal’s website GatheringBooks.org has been followed in over 200 countries since 2010. She also enjoys organising international events that bring together fellow book lovers to celebrate literature and joyfully attempt to change the world.
