Nabila Yun Eun Kyung
Professor Dr Nabila Yun Eun Kyung (Nabila) currently serves as Professor and Head of the Arabic Language Department, as well as Director of the Korean-Arab Center for Culture and Education at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in South Korea. She previously held the positions of President of the Korean Association for Islamic Studies, Secretary-General of the Korean Association for Arabic Language and Literature, and Assistant Secretary-General for Quality and Academic Accreditation at the International Association of Arabic Departments.
She is currently the Vice President of the Korean Association for Foreign Language Education and Editor-in-Chief of the academic journal published by the Institute of Middle Eastern Studies at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies. She also serves as a member of the Board of Trustees for the “Sheikh Hamad Award for Translation and International Understanding” and the “King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language.”
Dr. Yun has authored more than eighty publications and research papers in international and local academic journals, covering fields such as education, language, culture, and translation. Her notable works include Arab Society and Its Cultures, Introduction to Arabic Sociolinguistics, and Arabic Language for Intermediate Level. Among her major translations to and from Arabic are the novel Shamous, Dictionary of Islamic Civilization Terms, Glimpses of Korean History, Poetry Collection of Korean Poet Yoon Dong-joo, and Animal Welfare in Islam, among others.
