Neil Shubin
Neil Shubin is an evolutionary biologist, educator, author, and science communicator. He earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from Columbia College of Columbia University in 1982 and a Ph.D. in organismic and evolutionary biology from Harvard University in 1987, followed by postdoctoral work at the University of California, Berkeley. Shubin is an elected member of the American Philosophical Society, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. In 2011, he was elected to the National Academy of Sciences, where he has also served on multiple committees, contributing to the advancement of scientific research and education.
