Parween Habib
Parween Habib is a Bahraini poet, literary critic, and media personality born in Manama in 1969. She holds a Ph.D. in Modern Arabic Literature from the Institute of Arab Studies in Egypt. Her media career began at an early age, working as a presenter for Bahrain TV before moving to Dubai TV, where she hosted prominent cultural programs such as “Meeting with Parween” and “Sweet Talk.” Habib has published several poetry collections, including Your Fearful Masculinity, My Paper Childhood and I Turned My Back to the Mirror, as well as critical works like Techniques of Expression in Nizar Qabbani’s Poetry and children’s books such as Grandpa and WhatsApp. She has received numerous awards and honors from Arab and international institutions and continues to write for leading newspapers and magazines, aiming to promote Arab culture and the aesthetics of poetry.
