Salha Obaid
Salha Obaid, an Emirati writer and novelist, published her first short story collection, Alzheimer, in 2011, followed by The Messenger of Happiness and The iPad’s Life on the Zorba Way. Her fourth collection, A White Strand Implicitly, won the Al Owais Prize for Creativity.
She serves on the Board of Directors of Culture and Science in Dubai, is a member of the Emirates Writers Association, and is the founder of the Cultural Community Project.
Obaid has also published the novels Perhaps a Joke and Except Your Grandmother Was Singing, while her novel The Spice Circle was longlisted for the International Prize for Arabic Fiction in 2023, affirming her place as one of the UAE’s leading literary voices.
