Sara Hamdan

Sara Hamdan is the Managing Editor of Protocol Labs. She is a former Merrill Lynch banker, New York Times journalist and editor at Google. After winning a Netflix short story award, she received the Emirates Literature Foundation Seddiqi First Chapter Writers Fellowship for her debut novel, What Will People Think?, featuring an Arab American, female stand-up comedian. Hamdan's novel, represented by United Talent Agency and Curtis Brown, went on to win a landmark two-book deal with US publishing giant Holt and will come out early 2025. A Berkeley and Columbia graduate, Hamdan has called Dubai home for nearly 20 years. When she's not typing away at her laptop, she loves to spend time at the beach with her husband and two kids.
