Sarah Enany
Sarah Enany is a literary translator and Professor of English at Cairo University. She won the Saif Ghobash Banipal Prize for Literary Translation (2021) for her Arabic translation of Rasha Adly’s novel The Girl with Braided Hair. Her work includes translating operas such as Les Misérables and Mozart’s The Magic Flute into Egyptian Arabic, and Sid Hegab’s opera Miramar into English. She has also translated notable works including Ahmed Aboul Gheit’s memoir Witness to War and Peace, Omayma El-Khamissi’s novel The Flight of Cranes over Aqeeq Cities, and Gamal Rahim’s trilogy The Muslim Jew.
