Shahina A. Ghazanfar
Dr Shahina A. Ghazanfar is a leading plant taxonomist, specialising in the flora, and conservation of the Middle East. With more than forty years of research and teaching, she served as Lead Botanist at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, and is now an Honorary Research Associate.
Ghazanfar holds a PhD, and ScD from the University of Cambridge, and was awarded the Linnean Medal in 2021.
Her work spans taxonomy, restoration, and medicinal plants, with notable publications including Plants of the Qur’ān, and An Ancient Mesopotamian Herbal.
