Shereen Malherbe
Shereen Malherbe is a British-Palestinian author and English Literature graduate whose work spans novels and an award-winning children’s series. Her writing explores themes of history, identity, and belonging across the Middle East and its diaspora. She featured in the BBC documentary The Holy Land and Us, and her personal connection to heritage informs her acclaimed novel Yassini Girls, which has been praised by World Literature Today. In 2025, Malherbe was named one of nine jurors for the 2026 Neustadt International Prize for Literature, often described as the “American Nobel,” solidifying her reputation as a leading contemporary voice shaping global literary and ethical storytelling.
