Shihab Ghanem
Shihab Ghanem is an Emirati poet, author, and engineer whose work spans literature, music, and science. He holds a B.Sc.Eng from Aberdeen, an M.E. in Water Resources from Roorkee, a Ph.D. from Wales, and an Honorary Doctorate from Soka University, Tokyo. Ghanem has published 105 books in Arabic and English, with his poetry translated into over 20 languages and performed by 17 singers, including Sami Yousuf. He is the recipient of more than 30 awards, including the Tagore Peace Award and UAE Cultural Personality of the Year. Professionally, he served as Director of Engineering at Dubai Ports & Jebel Ali Free Zone and CEO of Mohammed Bin Rashid Technology Park, and was Chief Editor of World of Engineering. He is also co-founder and advisor of the international The Poetic Heart annual poetry festival, established in 2012.
