Simon Armitage
Simon Armitage is the UK Poet Laureate, an award-winning poet, bestselling novelist, and a professor of Poetry at the University of Leeds.
He has written more than twenty poetry collections, two novels, and three bestselling non-fiction books, and contributes extensively to television and radio.
His theatre works include The Last Days of Troy, performed at Shakespeare’s Globe.
From 2015 to 2019, he was Professor of Poetry at the University of Oxford, and in 2018, he was awarded the Queen’s Gold Medal for Poetry.
