Syed Haider

Haider, born and raised in the UAE, is a Pakistani writer, whose work explores themes of self-identity, love, grief and childhood. Haider self-published his debut collection of poetry and prose entitled Anyway, Don’t be a Stranger in 2023 and is currently working on a novel titled Sinner's Redemption.

Haider’s love for writing stems from his musical influences such as Bob Dylan, Jeff Buckley, Elliott Smith, Phoebe Bridgers and Bon Iver. His inspiration for storytelling blooms from his passion of watching films and television. He finds solace in the literary works of Franz Kafka, Fyodor Dostoevsky, Albert Camus and Sylvia Plath.

Apart from his professional work as a published writer, Haider is a staff writer at The Lunar Inn, where he occasionally writes essays and short stories. When Haider is not writing, he is attending his classes at Canadian University Dubai, where he is currently on his way to attaining a BA in psychology.
