Vaseem Khan
Vaseem Khan is the author of two acclaimed crime series set in India: the Baby Ganesh Agency series and the Malabar House historical crime novels. His debut, The Unexpected Inheritance of Inspector Chopra, a Times bestseller now translated into 15 languages, introduced Inspector Chopra of the Mumbai police and his one-year-old baby elephant sidekick; the second book in the series won a Shamus Award. Midnight at Malabar House, the first of six novels in the Malabar House series, set in 1950s Bombay and featuring India’s first female police detective, Persis Wadia, won the CWA Historical Dagger, while City of Destruction, the fifth in the series, received the Capital Crime Fingerprint Award for Historical Crime of the Year. Born in London, Khan spent a decade in India as a management consultant and has worked at University College London’s Department of Security and Crime Science since 2006. In 2025, he published his first psychological thriller, The Girl in Cell A. Khan has also been commissioned by the Ian Fleming Estate as the official author of the Q Mysteries, centring on the beloved Q (Major Boothroyd).
