Yara Al Masri
Yara El Masry is an Egyptian translator who studied Chinese at Al-Alsun Faculty, Ain Shams University, and Shandong Normal University in China. She has published translated texts from Chinese in leading Arab cultural magazines and has so far produced fifteen translated works.
Her awards include First Prize at the Sheikh Hamad Award for Translation and International Understanding (2021) for her translation of Love in the New Century, the Outstanding Contribution to Chinese Books Award (2019), and First Prize in the Akhbar Al-Adab Youth Translation Competition (2016).
Among her notable translations are Love in the New Century, The Gourmet, I Embrace a White Tiger and Cross the Ocean, Wives and Concubines, and Dictionary of Maqiao.
